This morning, I read an article about the future of space vacation by elevator. Space elevator is the huge and ultimate man-made project! The objective of this structure is to send our mankind to the space which is about 100,000km away.
This project needs about US$10 billion and 20 years to achieve the reality. The main concern is the cable that made of carbon nanotube composite ribbon. This material is stronger than steel. The earth station will be built on the floating base on the deep sea. For the space station, hotels would be built for climbers. Each elevator manage to carry 20 tonne of objects or 300 climbers at once.
If this become reality, will you want to take a ride? But, the entrance fee must be great figures!
